1. How do you determine pricing for document translations?
Our translation rates are calculated based on the number of words in the original document you want to have translated. When translating French and English, as a general rule of thumb, English documents usually contain 10-20% fewer words than French translations of the same documents.
Rates may vary according to how technical your documents are, whether they are highly specialized in a particular field or industry, and how fast you need the translation returned to you (turnaround time). Jobs that are urgent or “rush” and highly technical translations may be subject to an additional charge. Of course, we’ll let you know if they do upfront so you can budget accordingly.
2. How long will my translation take?
The average translator can handle approximately 2000 to 2500 words per business day provided the content and subject matter of your translations is not too technical. Technical complexity and the amount of necessary terminology research are usually the two biggest variables affecting how fast a translator can translate your documents.
However, we can work outside regular business hours or over a weekend if your deadline is short. Large documents can also be split into two or more sections.
